Dealing with Exif data

Exif data are stored automatically by your camera in the picture itself. The Exif structure can hold description, comments and keywords.

 

With Just After Shot you are able to inject Exif data individually to each picture or globally to all pictures or selected pictures.

 

 

 

Inject Exif data globally :

From then Tools menu toolbar click the Exif data button

You can define :

Description : image and user comment.
Date and time : useful for scanned pictures or if the date and time of your camera was not correctly set up at shot time.
Author : author and copyright. These information can be permanent.
GPS : with a professional camera GPS coordinates can be set automatically. Otherwise use the coordinates provided by a GPS device or use the Google Earth software to get they.

 

To enter Date time and GPS latitude and longitude click the left button which appears when you enter in the edit zone.

 

 

A preview menu is available from the bitmap on the caption bar.

From this preview menu you can

Save author
Save Gps
Save all

 

Load : load previous data saved

 

Clear author
Clear Gps
Clear all

 

 

Click the OK button to validate your entries.

 

 

 

When you have define these information, they can be injected when you acquire pictures from camera.

On the Options tab select when to inject Exif data. If you are transferring pictures from the camera or from the memory stick, it is not recommended to Inject Exif before copy.

 

 

 

 

When you work with session you can inject Exif data globally to all or selected pictures.

You can also Show Exif Data of the selected picture.

You can add or change description, subject, comment, keywords or user comment, title.

 

When you change or add a value a disk bitmap is now available on the caption bar.

Click the disk button to update the Exif data.

 

This function is also available from the Image tab preview menu.
