Working with Sessions (1) |

The goal of a session is to collect pictures in a single list container and allows you to quick fix, resample, rename, resize, back up, copy, zip and email or even run a quick slideshow of all pictures contained in the session.
As we have already seen you can create a session from a camera memory or from a scanner. The Acquire Sessions function lets you to work with already existing session, or create a new one from a folder. You can also request an entire disk scan to create sessions from any folder containing pictures.
If you wish to access to the last session, click the main window icon
From the Sessions menu you can quickly access to the three last sessions (or display a list of available sessions).
From the Acquire menu tool bar click the session button

The rules to define the filter are the same as these described in the Importing pictures from camera You can get the folder displayed by the Windows Explorer. Click the Display folder button
The folder has been filtered.
You will be prompted to select a drive or a folder. The entire drive will be scanned to search for folders with pictures. All folders and sub folders are scanned. Each time a folder or sub folder containing pictures is found, a new session is created. It is highly recommended to check the Create nickname from parent folder option. If you have selected a folder, only this folder and sub folders will be scanned.
The Sessions dialog box is displayed. This dialog box let you to select the session to select, but also you can manage the sessions from here.
For each session a thumbnail of the first picture in the session is displayed. If a nickname has been given to the session it is displayed on the edit zone. You can change the nickname, or give one to a non named session. To save the nickname you must click the small disk button You can organize the list with the To select a session highlight the one you wish from the list and click the OK button.
If the session has a nickname, it is displayed on the status bar. The folder is also available on the status bar. If you click over it the Windows Explorer will be launched and the folder shown.
